Hello,

sould i take a 3100 or a 5300 modem for a network with arround 60 computers ?

what for advantage i have with the 5300 modem ?

maybe you should consider the new Evolution X3 modem from bentley walker.

we have a own carrier at our provider and i belive the new mdem will not be copatible with the infinity series

then go for the 5300 since it has a faster processor, more ram and many other good features.

The best solution depends on your application.  If the application is basic browsing, email and a couple VoIP lines then the 3100 is just fine and it will save you money.

The 5000 series has a bigger CPU and more memory, but this advantage really only kicks in when you have more VoIP lines or need more TCP sessions or Packet Per Second Forwarding capability.  I generally recommend the 5000 series when there are over 100 PCs and a half dozen VoIP lines.

Note that the 5300 runs in "mesh" mode.  The 3100 does not.  What you really want to compare is the 3100 and the 5100.  

Another consideration is that the 5000 series modems can be converted to run iSCPC if you ever want to get off the D-TDMA service.
