hello, need help with some basic stuff,
i am trying to get a signal form hotbird 13 for italian tv i am in surbiton london,

i have a conflict with the tp, the website i vistied said that tp 52 �11.766 was the one to take but on my menu
11.766 shows up as tp 49? does anyone know which one is correct,

also on m LNB there are some degree markings 0-30 left and right, i am supposed to have this set at a particular angle? �

any help will be greatly apprieciated,

Have a look here https://www.lyngsat.com/hotbird.html and pick the program name you want.

To program your satellite TV receiver you need the polarisation name (Vertical or Horizontal), the frequency and symbol rate. �The transponder number should be of no consequence.

Use this page dish pointing uk to work out your polarisation angle, then add 3.5 deg. �(e.g. -10 +3.5 = -6.5 )

Set the LNB to nominal and then adjust it anticlockwise, as viewed facing towards the satellite since the polarisation adjustment angle required is negative ( e.g -6.5 ).

Some satellite TV receivers have an auto scan feature and will look at all frequencies and both polarisations and record all the carriers and details of the several TV and audio programs on each carrier. �This may take 30 minutes or so.

hi eric, thanks for that, got the polarization all sorted however after visiting lyngsat is says:

11766 V

etc which is great but my menu says 11766 v tp 49 does this matter? am i looking for the correct tp or 11766, many thanks,

Make sure the receiver is looking for the correct frequency. It should lock up and show 27500 symbol rate. It will give you a text listing of all the TV and audio channels on that carrier.

The transponder numbering may be some old programming in the receiver - not important.
