Title: Hub Can't Locate TX
Post by Nicholas Ademola on Dec 24th, 2008 at 10:33am
After we have locked the angle with RX 16 signal strength we called NOC for Activation they said they can't find our Tx, I swap cables, check connectors all proved abortive, LNB, BUC are Hub specifications, can someone help me out what could be the problem?

Most Ku band sites have cross pol operation.  They transmit on one polarisation and receive on the other.   A very few sites (on certain satellite beams) have co-pol operation and require a special diplexer instead of an OMT.  Verify with your hub that you have correct hardware.

More information about your configuration would help.  If in C band, have you set the transmit frequency and BUC upconverter local oscillator frequency correctly?.

Happy Christmas, Eric.

Dear Sir,

I've faced the above situation before well my problem as Eric said that they have forgotten to send me the right Diplexer :S.

Also are you sure you are looking the correct satellite, I've locked once the wrong satellite on my Satmeter with the same Freq. as my ISP's  :S

Check also the Tx parameters.

I hope i was helpful :)

mr nicholas , here is your  tips

1. rx 16 shows you are not on the right satellite or your tp/freqncy is not correct. - you supposed to get at least above 30 % to get signal spike.

2. if your modem is not properly configured with transponder diplxer it will not work (preconfigured modem)
check  .cfg file of your service provider and upload it to your modem to locate the frequency for you.

3.you misplug the tx/rx cable , make sure the cables terminate very well to initiate proper contact.

4.check your modem on a pre installed site to see if it picks up.

call me on 2348032706565 if you are at the site , lets  get mobile installation guide. see you .
