Title: Business-grade business continuity service Post by TomBeckman2 on Jan 2nd, 2010 at 9:32pm
I have two sites in rural northern California that I want to set up VSAT links to be used in the case of total Internet and phone outage, that will function under most any circumstances.
I looked a a lot of satellite Internet ISP's, and concluded that the low-cost services won't cut it. I found Skycasters which has a 6-watt iDirect 3100 box with a 1.2 m dish that they say will maintain a connection in the rain, which is important during rain season. Plus low latency/jitter, direct access to NOC techs 24/7, CIR instad of "up to" rates, etc. Bandwidth is quite expensive, but you can use all that you're willing to pay for. Are there any other companies with this class of service that I should take a look at? Thanks. Tom |

They're a reputable outfit, resellers of iDirect service. And iDirect is one of the best at what they do. Matter of fact, we host an iDirect forum here
( https://www.satsig.net/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=idirect ). So what it sorta comes down to is finding the reseller that can give you the best iDirect deal. Try this: https://www.idirect.net/Company/Our-Partners/Find-a-Partner.aspx //greg// |
