I'm having trouble finding a spec sheet online regarding a 10W BUC:

10N48I is the model number they gave us.

I have a serial number as well I will post it if needed.

Just guessing, but could it mean:
10 watts, N type input connector, 48 volt supply and Internal 10 MHz reference ?

Is there any other text or labeling anywhere ?
Is it named C band or Ku band ?
Send us a picture of it ?

Unfortunately I do not yet have a pic or anything, I'm trying to acquire a spec sheet from them right now.  If I can get a picture I'll post it up!

If Eric's guess is correct you cannot power a 48 VDC BUC from the iDirect modem and even if it was 24 VDC the current draw would most likely be too high to power it.

Right, that is what we knew with the 48volts, yet we have no information regarding it and are still awaiting information on how they intend on supplying the power as it needs more than what the modem can provide.

I see that they do bias-tees as well, which you will find useful if you want to inject DC power from an external power supply.  Ask about a suitable bias-tee at the same time. Make sure the bias-tee is rated for a voltage in excess of what you need for the BUC and also that it will pass L band and 10MHz reference.  If you need 48V for the BUC then a bias-tee rated at 35V will not do.   Try to operate the BUC with external reference if possible, particularly if using TDMA transmit.
