Your options file is corrupt.

Why cant you access console?  Is the unit in a reboot cycle?

The 3100 modems are not supported under 9.0.0.7....

I'm no expert on iDirect but I just wonder if there is some way the software can be backed up on some external storage prior to a modem being upgraded/modified ?

In case of problems, the whole lot can then be reloaded from scratch.  Surely this must be what happens in manufacturing ?

Best regards, Eric.

Hi Eric

There are three pieces to the iDirect software the way I understand it. The operating system which is loaded by the boot loader - I have only ever seen this deleted when someones fiddles. Second is the Falcon process which includes code loaded into the FPGA chipset and some linux applications - these are reinstalled using iSite as updates and package files. The third bit is the options file which is a text file and is created by the hub operator and always available from them. So there is no real need to backup anything because its all available for reinstallation and there is a documented procedure to do it all.

Hi,

if you can boot to redboot>

which i think is very possible, then u may get your modem back.

It is very tru that 9.0.0.7 does not support 3100.

things u need

1. ZImage
2 download how to recover line cards (study carefully) u can download from talia.et support
3. Putty, tftp etc.
