It will depend on what you are using as a tracking receiver.

1.  If your tracking receiver is DVB-S (satellite TV) type receiver you will need to find a suitable TV carrier that is likely to be there for long time. Look for a carrier on the same polarisation and in the same block of Ku band as your wanted traffic carrier.   See https://www.lyngsat.com/t12.html  Note that TV carriers do change from time to time and your service will fail when this happens, so be ready with alternatives. Don't choose a TV carrier that is approx the same frequency and symbol rate as one on any nearby satellite, unless your receiver is locking based on unique program PID code.

2.  If your tracking receiver is a CW beacon receiver then you need to know the Telstar 12 tracking beacon frequency.  Contact Eutelsat tech support.  If the beacon is linear then you need a beacon on the same polarisation as your wanted carrier, or a circular polarisation beacon.  Check that your LNB local oscillator freq and the beacon receiver tuning are compatible.  You must use a PLL LNB, preferably external reference, as the beacon will be low level.    Read Seatel manuals regarding how to connect the carrier lock and signal level signals to the Seatel controller.

3.  Use of your traffic modem as tracking receiver.  If your traffic modem can output lock and level signals then you might use that as the tracking receiver.

Best regards, Eric.
