Title: 2 houses with tooway in both
Post by granadainfo on Sep 11th, 2010 at 10:39pm
Half of the time I live in the mountains and half the time I live at the coast.

Would it be possible to have a tooway dish installed in both places and just take the modem with me and screw the satellite cable into the back of the modem when I arrive?

Does the satellite sytem identify the modem using username and password or does it physically identify the MAC number of the modem.

My intention would not be to use it in both places at the same time.

Would that be tecnically possible and would it be acceptable to the ISP?

I am in Spain, which company is the best Tooway provider?

Yeah I reckon this is possible. The mac address is all that is relevant, not your location.

It sounds hopeful to me also; just move the indoor box.

I would suggest having the same cable type and lengths at both sites and matching coloured labels on the cable ends to minimise risk of cross connection.

A possible problem I forsee is if the distance to the satellite is much different, not sure how much matters!.   Hopefully the system will re-range the site after power on and it will then work normally.

Maybe someone can try moving a site about and test to see if it re-ranges successfully.

Best regards, Eric.

Hi,

Yes you can use as many dishes as you want. We activate systems (Ka+Ku) in our office near Barcelona or London and ship them to locations in Portugal, Spain, Greece, France etc. Distance between between sites 50 - 2500 km.

Last week we activated and tested a system in London and shipped to a site in South Portugal, it locks within minutes.

Also changing to another transponder is no problem and you don't have to inform your provider, it takes a few minutes longer sometimes but thats all.

Our rental systems travel all over europe and no connection problems.

We have plenty of extra dishes, lnb and buc's in stock, so if you want a system please contact us.

Success,

Frits Blomsma
