i am staying in a budget hotel that offers wireless internet via a satellite connection.  i am concerned about my privacy.  how easy or difficult is it typically for a motivated person or persons to hack my account and have access to what i am currently working on, my hard drive, my PC and its settings, etc., etc., etc.

also, what can i do to tell that this is happening, and what can i do to prevent anything like this from happening in the future?

if you need further info, please let me know.  thanks!
