Hello everyone,
in iDirect 15100 chassis, there is an integrated 40 port Ethernet switch. is this switch configurable? Is it a layer 2 or layer 3 Device? is it Cisco-like?
if this is a layer 2 switch, then which device performs routing in iDirect hub?
any help and reply greatly appreciated.
thank you.

Hi,
What looks like a 40 port switch on the chassis is actually a straight ethernet pass through from front to back.  you cable the line cards at the front Lan A/B down to the ports below the line card slots and those are direct pass through connections to the back, there's no switch configuration capability there.

The routing on the idirect platform at the hub side is done via the upstream router and protocol processor blades.
