KA-SAT is due for launch sometime in 2010. �It has been designed with many small spot beams covering all Europe plus four, slightly larger, spots covering parts of the Middle East. �It may be that the larger diameter coverages simply refer to the use of larger antennas by the customers. �Only the far north of Iraq is presently shown to be covered in the beam map below.

Does anyone know if this is the final beam configuration ?

For the time being there are plenty of Ku band beams for Iraq, see Satellite Broadband for Middle East
