Can COTS DVB-S2 receiver work with two-way VSAT Hub's DVB-S2 downstream carrier ?

All,

We will probably deploy a TDM/TDMA system (either iDirect or Hughes). Their Hub's DVB-S2 downstream carrier might use MPE or GSE encapsulation.

One target of our applications is data multicasting. For those related remotes if we use COTS DVB-S2 receiver (receiving only), do you think they can work with Hub’s DVB-S2 downstream carrier with no problem ?

Personally I think negative, because each VSAT vendor has puts their specifies into their products.

What are your possible inputs ?

I suggest you contact Hughes and iDirect and ask if what you want to do is possible.
