Hi every body, I live in Cuba and I want to know how ca I get satellite internet. Can I use Direct TV  dish and Lnb to do  that (I don't want to use both services at the same time just internet).
I have some friends in Canada if they pay the service there, can I use it here in Cuba.

That approach is not possible Randy. Even if the equipment were compatible, internet access requires two signal paths; customer receive, customer send. Satellite TV is customer receive only. You'd have no way of getting your OWN signal back to the distant internet server.

Randy,
I would like to help you out. Go to my website on the homepage you can use the e mail at the bottom, or if you have access to a phone that can call to the US use the phone at the bottom.  I have relatives in Canada that deal with Satellite internet.

Thanks

For Cuba, there are some issues

1) Homeland security is the USA who does not want ANY information send/receive from Cuba, only Diplomats can get a special permit, they can (and will) force your provider to disconnect a unit if they know that the origin of the signal is from Cuba.
2) Cuban authorities don't like uncontrolled communications , specially not via USA satellites.
(You live there, than you know the reaction of the local authorities.)

Be warned, you can get into trouble.
We are working on this already for some time and the results are normally worse than bad.

Sorry to tell you this, but you need to know before you buy.
