Impossible/slow applications over VSAT

Hi,

I know VSAT technology which is working over the satelite connection brings with it some embedded delay.

However everyone'still using it with HTTP Internet.

Are there applications that will work too-slow or even won't work at all above satellite? (such as Citrix?)

There will forever be latency just due to the satellite trip. Many manufacturers have designed their products to overcome this as best as possible. TCP will always be a little slower but HTTP isn't a problem, nor is UDP. Many companies, such as iDirect, combine many features into their product that they specially designed with satellite in mind as opposed to those that were designed for fiber or for short burst applications such as credit card transactions.
