You need to have a dish to receive satellite signals, so a simple PC card isn't going to be enough.
The real issue to be discussed, and of real concern to many on this forum is that pending proposals for WiMax frequencies conflict with existing C-band satellite service frequencies. This could be a major problem in the future, particularly in tropical/equatorial regions where rainfall during certain parts of the year is such that C-band is the only reliable service. C-band satellite service is not ready to be retired, but unless the frequency issues are sorted out, there could be significant conflicts in the future, leading to counter-productive results that could make it more difficult instead of less difficult for certain areas in places like central Africa, lacking Internet access, to gain it through VSAT service.
