Thinking about getting WB Questions first

We live in the country and currently only have dial up. No cable available. My son plays a lot of Runescape and tibia etc, and I play cards online. Will the dish be better than the dial up? The lady I talked to at WB said that there is a lag but isn't there a big one on dial up? Shouldn't the Dish be better ? I don't want to pay for this if it isn't going to work for what we use it for. Any help would be appreciated.

Satellite lag is literally hundreds of times longer than dialup. It's a matter of how far the signal has to travel. On dialup, it just has to go as far as your local provider and back. On satellite it has to go 35,700 km up, 35,700 km down, then turn around and make the same trip back to you.

Satellite is lousy for most games, especially first person shooter games. Quite acceptable for a sedate card game though

if you have suffered on dialup for internet service you will be tickled pink with wildblue. it will work fine for playing card games or games that make one move at a time. will not work for games that have to make constant moving and shooting (first person shooting games). with wildblue you will be able to surf faster and download faster. you can download songs in about 2 minutes compared to 5 to however on dialup.
