Go to this page: https://www.satsig.net/maps/lat-long-finder.htm Double click on Libya to put it in the middle. Select the wanted satellite PAS-1R at 45 west Then expand the scale ( + ) and select Hybrid image, till you can see your site. Write down the azimuth, elevation and polarisation required.
On your dish, set the feed assembly rotation angle (polarisation) as follows: First set to the nominal downlink polarisation. What nominal polarisation have you been told ? If Horizontal then you need to turn the feed assembly so that the broad faces of the LNB waveguide are on either side. Second, while facing towards the satellite, rotate the feed assembly clockwise for positive polarisation angles. An inclinometer put sideways across the BUC helps set this angle accurately. There may be a tiny crude scale on the feed throat clamp. You can use this to measure the amount of movement required but ignore any +/- signs.
On the back of your dish mount set the elevation angle.
Swing the dish boldly in the general azimuth bearing direction and the iDirect RX should go green. Peak up.
Best regards, Eric.
