NSS6 In Jeddah

I am a resident of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and would like to connect my DishTV receiver to NSS6.  I have checked with most of the technicians here and they all say we cannot get the signal of NSS6 in Jeddah.  Since most of them are not professionals I cannot take their word for granted.

Can any experts help me to know the details.

It's look like your place have no problem with the spot beam cover area on NSS6.

Quite right. There is a good coverage of KSA using the "Middle East-South Africa" NSS6 satellite coverage.

Have a look at https://www.lyngsat.com/nss6.html . Unfortunately this shows only CGN-TV and Kirgiz radio as free-to-air programming in the "Middle East-South Africa" coverage. To receive these you would ideally use a general purpose digital satellite TV receiver.

A number of "Dish TV" programmes are transmitted by NSS6 but they are in the India downlink coverage beam. The furthest west edge of this beam is at Dubai, so reception in KSA will not be possible.

Best regards, Eric.
