Dear All,

I need Bandwidth for my New ISP in Padang, West Sumatera, Indonesia.

I'm now using C-Band VSAT DVB-RCS 128Kbps UpStream, 512 DownStream, 1:4 CIR and I had to pay for USD 725 monthly.
Could anyone offer me the same Bandwidth but with 1:2 CIR and cheaper price, maybe equal or less than USD 700/month.

Your existing $725 per month for 512k/128k 4:1 sharing is a cheap and very competitive price.

Based on the above, if you want 512k/128k at 2:1 sharing, expect the price to increase to $1450 per month.

If you can accept 8:1 sharing, then the price should drop to $362.50 per month.

If congestion on the satellite due to others is a problem you might consider asking for dedicated 128k/32k CIR at around $725 per month. Any congestion would then be entirely under your control. The dedicated 32k CIR uplink will be superior to a 4:1 share of a 128k TDMA uplink, particularly for any VoIP traffic. You may be asked to pay a once off fee for a dedicated hub demodulator.

The price you mention is very good if CIR is indeed provided and not just calculated out of the contention ratio which could be just hypothetical in some cases!

With the costs of the DVB/RCS hub equipment, licenses, basically all teleport side expenditures, the cost for a 512/128 1:4 should be way more than $725/mo to keep the business profitable. If you're sure that is CIR, then the offer you have is wonderful.
