Hi,
I have a direcway dish, purchased from someone living in the front range basin (monument, CO) and she had it set to +15 polarization, 54deg tilt. The closest I can get to my Lat and Long is Florissant, CO 80816, of which im within 5 miles and 300 ft. in elevation, or Lat 38.889 Long -105.264. If I mount this dish at its current settings and sweep the southern sky will I find a bird? Or do I need to reset it before trying to work with the DW6000. Thanks for any help.

Apparently you purchased the system without an installation manual. If the previous owner properly decommissioned it, you can perform initial setup on any of the satellites on which Hughes leases transponder space. If the previous owner did NOT decommission it, you want to try to sweep for the specific satellite to which he/she was assigned. On modems that have not yet been decommissioned, the transponder frequency is still set into the modem properties.
