Just before you increase, ensure you are in the tmp directory by typing:

cd tmp

its also says unknown command, when I type cd /tmp also when I type only cd
I typed help and it comes a list of all commands. but in these list there is not cd,  tmp or mount. I can see many commands on these list, except cd or tmp and mount.
what can be happening?
Thanks

This is when loading the cumulative update correct?

Those procedures are near flawless (short of the tmp directory change).  You shouldnt be having a problem if you are inputing it correctly.

What version are you manually upgrading to?

I would consider going the iSite route.  Do you know your password to your modem?  Have a copy of iSite for your version?

What is your version?

Hi,
Problem solved.
1- I was not using the console cable
2- after connecting the cosole cable, I had to telnet to the modem, by lan card, tru the ip, admin/pswrd:XXXXXX and start the sshd and keep it running until the end of process, I mean until the modem reboots itself.(after loading the option file)
3- open winscpc and copy the cumulatice package 7.1.1 to the /tmp directory, and close connection with winscpc.
4- telnet from the hyper terminal, console with root/pswrd: iDirect, and start send the commands.
5- with isite load the remote pkg, and option file.
6-modem reboots after option file load
7-Done!
Thanks
David

Glad to hear it.  Those instructions are usually pretty good...
