dear

How many terminals can a PP handles ?

The answer to that question is heavily dependent on:

1. The overall network configuration
2. Types of remotes (this plays into #1 above)
3. Types of protocols used by the remotes (TCP, UDP, etc)
4. The estimated/anticipated BW utilization by network/remotes.
5. The type of servers you are using (E335s, E336s, or E3550s).
6. The amount of memory in each of them.

There are networks that literally have hundreds of remotes/users on 2-blade Hub.  Others may have considerably less.

It is a good idea to use the top command on each of your PPs to observe statistical data on the blade such as utilizations, load averages, etc.  It can also be used to determine if you are maintaining a proper balance of remotes on each blade or if it is time to add a blade.

Lets say 250 Remotes per PP. Ofcourse you must check the CPU Utilization by "top" Command and make sure the Memory Used <90%. If it is ~ 90% or >90%.. It is always better to add a new PP into Network..!

Dear

Could you give me some idea of designing a Vsat Network.do we have any calculation based on this if how can i calculate that (how can i evaluate no .of terminal with specific bandwidth , qos , downstream/upsream b/w and CIR , $ no.of slots etc)
Please let me know all the factors involved

Thankyou all for the support given to us . We really appreciates

Regards

Do you have access to the iDirect TAC (read do you have an iSupport agreement?)?  If so, I recommend using iDirects iNPT (found on the TAC website) to design your networks.  However you need to have a good understanding of what services (real time protocols, etc) each node is going to require before using that tool.
