Hi for all
I wonder what is the difference between the evolution and the 3000 series , about using the band ,Qos , speed of the cpu and all thinks can we got know and good for replace 3100 by evolution and thanks ofr good response

iDirect Infinite 3100 Series Satellite Router can use 18Mbps Full Line Card Capacity but Evolution Series or DVB-S2 Card Support 160Mbps Line Card Capactity with the same Satellite Router, for example 3000,5000,8000, I hope this information will help you to get the answer desired.

As stated above, the significant difference is in the waveform. The eVOLTION (using DVBS2 ACM) it a bit more efficient on the outbound (downstream) carrier than the iNFINITI. The modems are similar with regards to band and their ability to take advantage of iDirects GQoS suite (as it is a network side/Hub side function/configuration). Also, there is a plan to allow 2GHz tuning on the eVOLUTION in future software platforms. Just realize that in the current iDS's/iDX's, you have to maintain the integrity of the waveform on the PPs blades. Therefore, you (presently) cannot merge the iNFINITI and S2 waveforms on the same PP bladeset. You cannot have one IF group running S2 and another running iNFINITI (being managed by the same blades).

This reply to Mike. I thought iDirect already works with Ka. Their gear is RF independant. I'm sure there are operators providing Ka services on iDirect in Europe?

Correct, it is all LBand.....the software is the limiting factor. I believe the software (iDS) for the iNFINITI are only capable of an L-Band freq of 1700. I believe iDX (eVOLUTION) changes that...with iDX 1.

I will research it further when I get some time....
