Recent Problems with W3A BW Connectivity

Good Evening,

I was wondering if anyone has been experiencing any connection issues with BW service on W3A in IRAQ?  We are currently experiencing extremely high latency in the 20-30sec range(yes 20-30kms), random loss of connectivity, and slower that normal download speeds.  I have e-mailed BW technical support but have not recieved a reply.  I was curious if anyone has had a similar experience.  The problems started on or about 1-JAN-09 and have continued since then.  I read on a stateside internet forum where some of the Hughesnet subscribers are experiencing the same similar problems.

Thank you.

Hi this is BW ,

yes we had an issue with some of the Return Carriers on W3A HX which were locking and unlocking , this started Saturday evening, there was a slowing down of the browsing but it did not stop service but caused the symptons you describe . fortunatley we had just installed a new digital return channel demodulator two weeks ago and this morning Hughes put all carriers on this devise and now the system is performing better than ever, please check and if you have any feedback email me directly anthony@bentleywalker.com

Good evening,

Thanks for your responce.  I have checked the system periodically throughout the day multiple times.  We still do not seem to have our issues resolved.  I will say that the download times have lessened somewhat but the intermittend connectivity and sparatic service is plaugeing us.

Thanks Again,
Perry Moore

We're not on W3A, but on W6 and having problems as well.  We have a signal strength of 91 and, as of recently, we're having HUGE transmit problems.  Every 2 minutes it will connect for about 5 seconds, then disconnect again.  Are you, or anybody else, having these same problems?
