Hi dot,
Thanks for your input. I have connected the console cable and got a lot of scrolling text on my screen. I had to wait for it to finish scrolling and see what the first lines look like:
DRAM Test ................ DRAM Test Successful +Ethernet eth0: MAC address 00:60:43:00:00:00 IP: 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0, Gateway: 192.168.0.2 Default server: 192.168.0.2
I assumed that the above is the IP address but still could not login either using iSite or telnet session. However, i phoned the previous owner and they gave the preconfigured ip address as 41.209.2.97, net mask 255.255.255.248. Why was i not able to see this preconfigured ip address at boot time with my console cable? How can one reset the modem to factory defaults? I must say i have found Wireshark to be useful too. Before calling the previous owner of the modem i was able to establish the ip address. The only thing is how does one over ride the password?
Thanks for your postings.
Francis
