iDirect Hub questions...

I am currently looking into purchasing an idirect mini Hub for internal corporate use. We will be limited to 15 or less users.

We currently have several VSAT installations that we will be retiring and I would like to use some of the Ku-band hardware.

So my question(s) we already have several AnaSat ku-band transceivers installed and running. We have several 1.8m and a 2.4m prodelin antennas.

What would be the minimum dish size we can utilize for the Hub? We are talking about very low data rates in the 128-256K for each user.

Can we use a 70 mhz IF to L-band converter between the Hub and the Anasat transceiver for the hub? Has anyone done this?

The remotes I believe will run on 1.2m antennas with new L-band BUC's etc in the field so my questions are directed primarily to the Hub.

I would hate to have to touch what is already installed on our roof. I am not looking for someone to spell this all out for me. I am just looking for opinions and hopefully some one to point me in the right direction.

Best Regards;

They do make 70 Mhz to L-Band Up/Down converters that will work for your configuration, you would be required to run them backwards (Up converter on the downlink and Downconverter on the uplink)

However, there are some restrictions on the sale of the Mini hub:

1) No more than 15 remotes
2) Buyer must have already purchased at least one 5IF or one 4-slot hub previously
3) Buyer must have at least 2 IOM certified techs on staff
4) Buyer must take responsibility for installing the Mimi hub themselves using certified hub installers as labor.
