iis there anyway to know the current usgae in I direct modem by telnet commands ,.. ie the current bandwidth usage goin on through our modem.

Use iSite and monitor "IP Stats" (if you have the perms to do so). That will provide you with "near" real time stats (minus overhead). That or get a third party software.
