Hello everybody,

I want to become space segment provider and lease directly the space segment from satellite operator. (Intelsat, Eutelsat, etc)

Can somebody help and tell me what are the rules and regulations what must be accomplished to do that ?

The "space segment provider" is the satellite owner: Intelsat, Eutelsat, etc.

If you can show that your company is suitably competent, responsible, trustworthy, insured and acceptable then you may lease transponder capacity from them.

You will then, after setting up an earth station teleport and hub equipment and internet backbone connection, become a satellite internet service provider.

Ask Intelsat, Eutelsat etc about the terms and conditions for transponder leasing.  Contact your local country Radio Regulatory Authority regarding licencing, taxes etc for your teleport.

Avoid sub leasing capacity from some intermediate third party - you can get into a lot of trouble if the third party takes your money but does not forward it to the satellite operator.  Also beware of fraudulent false offers; never sub lease unless you have talked to the satellite owner and verified that the actual frequencies are really leased by the third party and are actually being paid for and that the payments are up to date. Obtain a copy of the contract between the satellite operator and the third party and get a lawyer to check that all the terms and conditions are carried forward correctly.

Best regards, Eric.
