Hello,

I have found on my spam box an email from enquiry@un-socialtrustfunds.com, with the title of VSAT TENDER INSTALLATION‏. Date is May the 13th. I believe I received this email because my email appears here.

The message is invitation to participate in a tender of installation of VSAT systems, plus providing of hardware and service etc.. After replying to the email asking for more details, I got the reply saying the tender papers cost money. I asked for phone number to contact and stopped to receive any more replies.

That smelled not so good so I lookup for the domain (un-socialtrustfunds.com) which I found no valid contact details, further check showed that several fraud sites used the same physical address.

Also on the web page there is no contact details.

SO just watch out..

I can confirm that similar spam emails have been received elsewhere.

The "5 watt BUC" scam

This 5 watt BUC has been ongoing for many years and involves the use of "just stolen" credit cards to buy VSAT equipment - mostly 5 watt C band BUCs and iDirect modems.

It is an example of generic email fraud with stolen credit card details, attempting to buy anything and directed at many other small businesses also.

"Too cheap iDirect modems". If you are offered a large quantity of abnormally cheap iDirect modems make it a condition that they are delivered to you and that you test them over satellite, before paying for them. Many may be faulty.

If you receive such emails and have details of the sender always report to the police.
