Dear All

could any one help me, in the process of iDirect network design I need to know the relation the customer data rate and what is called Info rate in iDirect terminology on both upstream and downstream directions. by knowing this, the rest of the calculations for the BW can go straight forward.

I will be waiting your kind feedback.

You need to sign up for (pay for) iSupport and use the iDirect iNPT to help you design your networks.  There is a very big difference between Info rate and actual IP data rate (due to satellite overhead).

Zizo - There are so many factors that will influence this including modulation, FEC, frame length (iNFINITI), VLAN, link encryption, etc. As Mike said you really need to know how to use iNPT and this will do it all for you.

Mike - I dont believe you need to pay for iSupport to get or use iNPT. You do need to be trained on how to use it however; there is so much to know to get it to work for you.

Thank you for your reply guys. Acually I have iNPT and I am recently get to use it but my problem now is that, in my design I need to accommodate multiple packages (multiple contentions) in each upstream and this I believe isn't supported in iNPT (correct me if I am mistaken) that is way I need to know the mathmetical relation between user rate and info rate if possible to be able to do it manually.
