Best beam type for Valencia and South Wales ?

Based on actual measurements ..

What is the best beam type number (1-4) for Valancia, Spain ?

What is the best beam type number (1-4) for Cardiff, Bristol area, UK ?

I spent a couple of hours last night adding spot beam markers to my Tooway dish pointing tool:

and want to verify the type of beam (1-4) of the two spot beams mentioned above.

If anyone else can confirm the best spot beam at their location or has more accurate information about beam positions, please say.

There is some doubt regarding the existence of beam 83, shown as green, type 4, over Azerbaijan.

All beam positions and shapes are approximate.

They must have corrected their calculator as it now shows the right colours for the beam types over Bristol and Valencia.

My calculator remains unchanged:

Eric ... the actual beam number is not that important for Tooway installations. In my part of France, I'm covered by three beams and No2 is by far the strongest and it makes sense to align the dish using that particular spot beam.

But you can still align the dish to a weaker spot beam ... the main thing is that after the installation procedure, the system will automatically connect itself to the strongest beam. You can see this on the modem page as it goes through the four satellite icons one by one ... at the same time, you can hear the Tria selecting the different polarities via the very audible clunk of the polariser as it checks all the beams.

Although it's useful to know the (calculated) strongest beam for your location beam, it's not really going to affect the outcome of a perfectly pointed antenna.
