Hello

Need some help in configuring packet routing between two remotes 5100 idirect modem. My ip plan is as follows:

remote A

sat0: 192.168.0.1/24
eth0:10.0.0.1/24

remote B:

sat0: 192.168.0.2/24
eth0: 10.0.1.1/24

both sites have lock on the modem. I just need to start communication between them.

regards

Hi Aniams,

is it not connect to internet ? only 2 remote communication?

if not then you can configure the routing from iSite.
click edit, then add "static routes"

from remote A :
IP address : 10.0.1.0
subnet : 255.255.255.0
gateway : 192.168.0.2
interface : sat0

from remote B :
IP address : 10.0.0.0
subnet : 255.255.255.0
gateway : 192.168.0.1
interface sat0

in case if you connect to internet you need to modify the routes table.

another vaild way also is to enable RIPv2 on both interfaces (for both modems) from iSite without defining static routes but for sure this for LAN to LAN communication but when it comes to internet connectivity insertion of puplic IPs or NAT may be imperative.

With regard to the same topic, any idea about the typical QoS configuration for both ends of the link. Kindly elaborate.
