The Ethiopian authorities have just lifted the ban or difficult license process for importing VSAT for customers. This means customers can apply VSAT without hassles and import VSAT ( please note that it is allowed for customer to import or apply for license not telecom operators). See link below.

Dear Bruk,

This is most excellent news, not only for us who deals with VSAT, but most of all I believe for Ethiopia itself.

So many companies have been contacting us trying to install a VSAT for their potential customers in Ethiopia, and all of them didn't manage to eventually because of the regulation. I believe now more foreign business and investments will find their way into Ethiopia.

Do you have any information about the requirements for getting a license?

Regards,
Nimrod
