Sorry, your text is gone. The multiple postings time limit was set to 3600 sec recently having been 360 sec previously, to reduce forum spamming. Also people wanting to become new members need to apply to me first by email, with suggested username and email address, in order to request consideration. Successful applicants will be sent an initial access code for registration.
If you intend to make a long contribution I suggest you type it in Notepad. Edit carefully, correcting any spelling errors etc. Then do Format, Word wrap Off, then Select All, Copy (control C) and Paste (control V) into the forum Post reply box.
You may modify your existing postings to include images of the coverage maps like so: {img}https://www.example.com/images/footprint-map.gif{/img}; Use square brackets, not squiggley ones.
We particularly appreciate such footprint images and also specifics about which up beam and which down beam is being offered for sale. If the up beam is the same as the down beam please say so.
The perfect posting would include both uplink (G/T) and downlink (EIRP) maps plus the operating uplink PFD/MHz and downlink EIRP/MHz for fractional transponder leases.
Warning to people considering transponder leasing from someone other than the actual satellite operator. In the case of full and fractional transponder sub-leases there is concern that the seller is not entitled to re-sell or is defaulting on their own payments to the actual satellite operator. In all cases a potential purchaser of a fractional lease must communicate with the satellite operator and verify the propriety of the proposed sub-leasing, clearly identifying the satellite, beams and start and end frequencies. Also, obtain from the actual satellite operator the terms and conditions relating to polarisation isolation and uplink off-axis emission interference limits etc.
Best regards, Eric.
