Tooway and X box live

Had a question from a  client and wondered if anyone here had an answer

Question from client
"Is there a way to find out if the tooway system will receive traffic over port 3074. May seem a bizzare request but I am trying to do xbox live and they have been really helpful and said the sat2way system is ample to run on line games,  they have run loads of tests and the only problem they can see is that possibly the modem is not using port 3074 for traffic."

I am not that up on x boxes  on line games or port configs  but would have thought as mentioned elsewhere that latency would be the biggest problem

You lose every game you play via a satellite system because the latency/ping  (=>650 msec) Sad Sad

Sat2way info is not correct.

You better inform you clients upfront regarding games via a satellite system, it will never work properly.

Of course it is not a problem using a satellite system on games NOT time related (e.g. Chess).

just to add to cruestec.. Iam actually the client he speaks about.

I have been using xbox live with tooway system and it does work, it is not ideal for games such as first person shooters, but it does work amply on other games.

I have run tests with the help of xbox support and they have said the speed is ample. xbox connects fine and there  are no NAT problems. Having said that the games will not find any online games with other players. Having tested the xbox, the only suggestion they had was that tooway is using a VPN or not using port 3074. I had a look about on some other forums and did find a little information ( although in french). People complaiining that tooway is hidden behind a proxy and not allowing certain ports....https://www.ariase.com/fr/forum/ports-entrant-filtrage-ftopic20646.html

Hopefully somebody has some advice

just to add a little more info. The ping rate is exceptionally high 850. is this normal.

also got this advise from xbox support. Many broadband internet modems are coming with routing capabilities built in. Please contact your internet service provider to determine if your internet modem has an integrated router. If it does, they should be able to assist you with the steps above for setting up your router.

Ping is not exceptional high. Tooway is routed via dns servers from Skylogic in Turin as far I know, maybe that's the problem.

The "tracert" command will show you all the hobs.
