idirect modem reboots every 3mins

Hello every one,

I have problem with idirect 3100, somehow loading of pkg 12. and opt file was not done correctly, I think. and modem started rebooting itself in every 3mins, i managed to load the pkg and opt file using console and follow the recovery procedurs, however i confirmed by checking via telnet that it has picked up the pkg 12 and opt file but still it continues to reboot itself.

any idea to get it fixed?

is there traffic going through modem? what is the temperature?

intensive traffic and overheating can cause reboot of modem

Dear Hashmat,

It looks like corrupted falcon. Try to follow the recovery procedure. Though we had a similar case, a modem that was up and running until an engineer messed things up, we dont even know how. An iDirect expert was working on the modem real hard and could not recover it and eventually had to RMA it.

Modem was not in use for quite some time, when loading the opt file and pkg they did something wrong, i reloaded the pkg and opt file using winscp, as soon as is connected to antenna which is already peaked to satellite and modem's rx is locked green it stops rebooting even it come online i could use internet, but after it was rebooted from NOC it didnt come online, during the time it was connected to sat and it was not rebooting i reloaded the pkg and opt file using Isite, seemed to have accepted the package and opt file.
but when it was disconnected from sat it start rebooting again.

Hope it gives more info about the issue with it
