Azerspace-1 satellite is to be launched by the end of 2012 and will maintain a geostationary orbit at 46 degree East Longitude.

The satellite with its 2 switchable beams on Ku band will cover Europe and Central Asia. The whole of Africa and Central Asia & Europe will be involved by C band with its 2 switchable beams.

Azerspace-1 comprises 36 transponders (36 MHz each) of which 24 are C-band and 12 are Ku-band active transponders.
