EVO X3 beam switching until ACQ

It appears that the EVO X3s beam-switch until network acquisition. This happens every 5 minutes. I mostly point from telnet (isite is not worth the double click to open it). NOC says this will go away after a month..

It makes pointing a pain because while peaking (regardless of receive) the modem will "reboot" (even though I continue to get ping replies) then I must wait 5 minutes until beam switches back to normal?

Anyone else run into this on EVO X3s ?

Apologies if this topic has been covered, I cannot find a search function on these forums..

Hi,

It sounds to me like the modem is curropted, maybe it has the wrong image. It just typical for a curropted modems to keep rebooting after 5 minutes or so, more experts in this forum can provide the exact reason for the falcon to behave like this.

I would recommend to check with your NOC this direction as well...

Good luck and please tell us how did you manage eventually,

some interesting FYI:

NOC provisioned a second backup beam. Not sure if it's temporary or permanent.

A quick telnet command locks the current beam (as long as it's the "primary" beam .. ?) and will prevent falcon from resetting every +/-300 seconds.

The updated infinity option files will restart falcon/switch beams every 300 seconds during a crospol test with an active CW.

The telnet command: beamselector lock [enter] will prevent this from happening during NOC crosspol test.
