Anyone considering leasing transponder capacity should clarify with the 'seller' the exact frequency range and then check with the satellite operator that the capacity is in fact presently leased by the 'seller' and that payments are being made.  Check that the satellite operator will allow re-leasing and that all terms and conditions of the satellite operator are complied with. If possible, make your new contract and payments direct to the satellite operator and make any compensation (either way) as a separate deal with the present lessee who may be pleased to pay you get out of a contract early or pleased to earn by passing on rare capacity - all depending on circumstances.

Best regards, Eric.
