I have been running a Directway Satellite internet connection from the Bahamas for about a year.  I have an email account on a site in the states, but throught the satellite connection I am not able to receive e-mails using outlook.  I am able send.  I am using a DW600 modem. I believe it must be part of a latency issue but am not sure if there is a work around.   Has anyone else had this issue and know how to resolve?

I'm sorry, I inadvertantly moved this topic into a category that I cannot further modify. I'll try to get it moved to the correct category asap.

I've used Outlook over a Direcway connection for years now, and can assure you that latency is not an issue. I'm almost certain it's just a matter of your account settings. I suggest you review them at https://kb.hughesnet.com/al/12/2/1219.htm#1079

Thanks, I'll go through the process again.  I am not using the hughes mail server but a mail server tied to another provider.  The problem could be tied up in the smtp authentication requirement.
