I have hughes equipment and want to change the service to iDirect.  I do not know the specifications of the BUC and the LNB.  I am asking my friends who have used the same with 1.2m prodelin on a DW 1000 and PES 5000 equipment for KENSAT, Kenya, if it is possible to change the modem to either iDirect or shiron RGB 384B?  I am stuck whether it is going to work if I purchased an iDirect or used my other Shiron RGB 384 gateway which is lying in the store.  I am waiting for your professional advice. Can someone advice?

To the best of my knowledge, the DW1000/PES5000 product line used standard dish, BUC and LNB components.

I suggest looking closely at these components to see if you can find vendor and model or part numbers.

They were generally sold in KU configurations with .5, 1 and 2W BUCs.  You'll likely need a larger BUC unless you find a provider with a strong KU signal over Kenya.

I would think that your original network operator could also provide you with the information you need.

Good luck,

Pat
