Hello all.

I finally got my antenna aligned to W6 from Kirkuk Iraq.
During the activation process (Bentley walker) the NOC tried to download a package (6095) to my modem, but my modem was already at 7012.

Anyway...the package did not take...and the modem stopped repsonding. The NOC instructed me to shut power...then restart.

Now the modem will not allow me to telnet and is not detected in iSite.

I have manually installed the package for 6095 using a tftp server...success...but still the modem is not detected.

I have reloaded the OPT file manually and by using WinSCP3.82....still not working.

Keep in mind I can PING the modem from the laptop, just no telnet or isite. I cannot telnet 0 as the root either.

All the lights flash green...then yellow and red-status.

I also received a message during boot stating that "falcon Warning: This board is incapable of being a 'Remote'!"

Using WinSCP I have full access to the file structure of the modem.

So...at this point what can I do??? I want to see if I can do this without sending back, and Bentley Walker tech support has no idea what to do at this point.

Is there any way or any software available, that I can use to reformat or wipe my modem, then restore it with a clean OS?

I have a console cable....so what can I do?

Dear Sir,

As you said you have console and you able to use WinSCP .. this is good very good .. I will give you the procedures.

1-you have to access the modem by console
2- user : root
3- password: iDirect
4- #service idirect-falcon stop
5- #service sshd start
6- open the WinSCP
7- delete opt/ idirect/ falcon/ fpga-image
8- tmp (winscp) copy image file 7-0-5 to tmp from winscp
9-#cd / tmp
10-#cd /etc / idirect/ falcon
11-#cp falcon.opt falcon.opt-BU
12-#cd /tmp
13-#pwd   will show you /tmp
14-#ls –al
15-it show you
      drw…….2 root    root  60….
      Drw……1 root    root  60….
-rw……..1 root    root    remote 7-0-5 pkg
or what ever remote you want to use
16-#df
17-#mount –t tmpfs –oremount,size=16m /tmp
18-#df
19- #package -mx -a remote-7_0_5.pkg
20-#rm -f remote-7_0_5.pkg
21-#chmod 744 package_install.sh
22-#./package_install.sh
23- package will start install in your modem
24- when the installation done, you have to do this
25-#cp falcon.opt-BU falcon.opt
26-#service idirect_falcon restart

Regards
Ammar

Is this an iConnex (ruggedized) iDirect modem?  If so, did it have an 7.X options file in it?
