I need some help. I have a paid subscription for Astro Malaysia. I am now working in India Pondicherry which is 160km south of Chennai.

I have 2 dishes in my home country and connect to a splitter and input to a decoder box. The dishes are fixed. (i can post the pictures but I do not know where to post)

I want to know can I install a dish to recieve PRIMARYILY Astro channels in Pondicherry? I  can bring over my decoder box but not the big dishes.

And another choice is to receive BOTH AsiaSat 3S at 105.5 deg east and Astro channels like in my home country. This will add cost due to separate dishes.

Can anyone recommend a dealer in Pondicherry or in Chennai who can install it?

Thank you.

You can't receive Astro here in South India. You need really a big dish like 12ft or more to get Ku signals from that satellite. I haven't heard anyone claiming to receive that package. So I am not sure about the dish size. It may be less or may be more.

I have success with a 3 meter dish to receive Astro from bangkok. Do you think I have success with such or bigger dish in Chennai? Please see the dish attached. The black dish is the one. The front dish is to receive AsiaSat 3S at 105.5 deg east.

It is possible to receive Astro. But the problem is we don't know for sure what is the size needed for it.
For Thaicom and Asiasat just 6ft is enough.
