The Hotbird 8 satellite at 13 East has transponders that radiate 53 dBW around the beam peak, see https://www.lyngsat-maps.com/Hotbird-13E.html but only 40 dBW at the beam edge, somewhat inland along the N.African coast.  Dish sizes 50 cm in Europe and 180cm in N.Africa are suggested.

A roasting dish is best kept for cooking the bird !

For Ku band (10-12 GHz) reception, the surface accuracy of the dish need to be about 2mm so smooth, accurately parabolic, solid metal surface.

Best regards, Eric.
