The Hotbird 8 satellite at 13 East has transponders that radiate 53 dBW around the beam peak, see but only 40 dBW at the beam edge, somewhat inland along the N.African coast.  Dish sizes 50 cm in Europe and 180cm in N.Africa are suggested.

A roasting dish is best kept for cooking the bird !

For Ku band (10-12 GHz) reception, the surface accuracy of the dish need to be about 2mm so smooth, accurately parabolic, solid metal surface.

Best regards, Eric.
