We had a thunderstorm the other night witch knocked out sat out of postion. The wind often does this we we tried to reaim the sat.

Our X3 reboots itsself every 2 minutes and 34 seconds. That is not enough time for us to aim the sat.

We have tried a soft and hard reset but neither of this worked. What could be the problem with it?

The options file that is loaded in it, is likely corrupt.

Yes, These guys are right

The first thing to do is to make sure firmware and version are both correct

download image file to modem  the download option file to modem

reboot the modem

Then confirm if both firmware and version are correct.

This should work

The most likely reason why your modem is reseting is that your falcon may be corrupt.

Lets know if this works

cheers

i've myself experienced this problem, follow the following steps:

1) make sure you have the correct and matched packages/option file and loaded in the modem.

2) talk to your NOC, there is a strong possibility that your NOC/service provider have two HUBs. and the modem automatically restarts when it doesn't receive beam from one hub and it automatically searches for the beam from the other HUB (if there is any)!

NOTE:: in this type of restart, the modem does not restart fully. only the services are restarted which you can say in other words a partial restart!
