Just a quick question as I am new to the VSAT thing. I have a corporate plan from BW which is supposed to be 2048 down and and 512 up. My rate code however is 256k 4/5 which after a little research doesnt seem to support speeds anywhere near 512k. I should have a 512 rate correct? And if this is the case are their any stats I should be checking to ensure the download side is set correctly besides a bandwidth test on the internet?

Thanks for the advice...jeremy

You are correct. But lets start by finding out what type system and which service provider.

Then -  if you're paying for 512 AND you've been given the correct equipment AND it's working properly - your rate code should in fact say 512 in normal weather. Start by finding "Allowed Inroutes" within the Transmitter statistics. Allowed rates are indicated with a green dot (on my interface anyway). If Symbol rate 512K at 4/5 FEC is not indicated, you're not getting what you're paying for. Contact the provider. If it is, we'll move on from there.
