During our holiday at Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt in March 2011, we visited the Canyon and Blue Hole at Dahab, the reef off Nabq bay and the Ras Mohammed national park. We saw all the fish below while snorkelling. Water depth was typically 0 - 2m. Camera used was Pentax Optio W10. At the deeper depths the flash worked an this caused small particles in the water very close to the camera to appear as out of focus whitish blobs. This is evident in the picture of the Red Sea Desjardin Sailfin tang fish ( Zebrasoma desjardinii ) at the lower left. If you turn off the flash the problem then becomes one of dealing with the movements of the fish during the inevitable longer time exposure.
