My name is John Ryan my sister is the Dean of the only English language law school in Cambodia. She is hoping to save money by having sat internet. Any information that anyone can provide would be a big help. The school receives no US governmental assistance  so cost MUST be low. There are a total of about 200 students but  I think that a system that might be able to handle perhaps 10 PCs at once would be fully satisfactory. CAn anyone give  some idea of what this might cost ? Thanks John Ryan

Satcoms is expensive, but to give you an idea, think in terms of about $70 per month per PC.

For example, for your LAN with 10 PCs:

80k down / 20k up:  $700 per month (dedicated service)
800k max down / 200k max up: $700 per month (shared 1:10 other sites)
1600k max down /400k max up: $700 per month (shared 1:20 other sites)

Note in the case of shared service there will be some fair sharing arrangement, such as reduced speed after excessive amount downloaded in each 8 hour period.

Try the satellite internet service providers listed for South East Asia.

I hope you get some further suggestions here.

Best regards, Eric.
