Hi there,
I am a new user of Tooway and this forum.

I am having a problem installing my Tooway set in Slovenia.
Everything is alligned perfectly but still it doesn't work.

The distributor can only tell me that i am on the uplink stream of germany where the polarisation is vertical and not horizontal like the rest. So that i need to change my polarisation.

How do i do this?
I know that you can change the polarisation when you turn the dish 90° but the Raven Gregorian dish that i got from tooway can only be turned 45°.
So there must be something ells.

Quick help would really come in handy...
Thanks alot in advance

My guess:

Polarisation:  There are two possible starting positions, each corresponding to a particular polarisation name.  The alternative starting positions are: a) the feed arm at the bottom or b) the feed arm at the side (either side, it does not matter).

Using this lat long finder page the polarisation adjustment angle for Slovenia is something like + 5deg. This means that from a starting position you need to turn the dish +5 deg clockwise, as seen with you standing behind the dish and looking forwards towards the satellite in the sky.

If your starting position was with the feed arm at the bottom the application of a +5 deg clockwise movement would not appear to be a problem.

Starting position at the side.  If the polarisation scale only goes 90 deg either way and no further, then is it no good trying with the feed arm on the left side (as seen from behind the dish) as no further clockwise adjustment will be possible, so in this case start with the feed arm on the right hand side and pull it down +5 deg clockwise.

Is this physically possible ? The scale may have to be read backwards e.g. -85 deg means +5 deg.

If you have good coverage, I assume you are in western Slovenia ? Ref: Tooway satellite beams

Please send a photo of the polarisation scale to me eric@satsig.net and I will insert it here.

Best regards, Eric.
